WHAT TO BRING

Although the camper may only be coming on a daily basis, it is good to know what to bring. Please keep in mind that it is a farm, and they will be working around horses. Certain common problems are bugs, dirt and the sun.

Heeled Boots and Running Shoes

Horseback riding is safest with a pair of riding boots due to their small heel. Rubber boots also have a good heel, and should be sturdy enough for barns. No open toed shoes are allowed near the ponies. Running shoes are not recommended for riding, however they will be useful for the other camp activities.

Tight Pants

Tight pants will be the most comfortable option when it comes to riding. They stop rubbing from the saddle and keep the rider comfortable. We recommend riding pants, or tights but sweatpants with elastic bottoms could also work. The camper may want to bring a change of clothes from these pants.

Sunscreen and Bugspray

With these two the sun and bugs will be at most a minor irritation therefore these are very important parts of a camper's gear. You may want to bring some extra along for reapplication through the day.

Clothes for the weather

Rain won't stop the activities here! Please dress for the weather as most of the day will be spent outside, rain or shine. This includes hats for the sun, shorts for the heat (must change into pants for riding though) and a raincoat if it is raining.

Don't forget a reusable waterbottle!

We recommend you to bring a certified horseback riding helmet for the rider, however one can be rented from us. We also recommend light gloves for protection while riding. Inexpensive "stretchy gloves" work as well.
